She is not the hen nature made her to be.
Nature's hen lays eggs. Sits on her eggs to provide the warmth and protection they need to hatch into chicks.
A Mature hen takes her chicks out to feed and protects them from danger. She still gathers them under her wings for warmth and comfort until they are old enough to fend for themselves.
The factory hen somehow is removed from what nature intended.
She lays eggs and does not stop laying eggs. Her feed is laden with hormones that make her lay eggs and we think it is okay because we need eggs for breakfast and cakes.
Sadly, we have not only done this to hens, we do it to ourselves.
People work against the natural rhythm of work, play and rest for our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
Some employers deny rest to their employees and treat them as though they were factory hens. Lay eggs, keep laying eggs, produce and meet targets.
Hours of work is now stretched to 12 long hour days, but there are only 24 hours in a day.
If a person spends 12 hours at work, how many hours would be used for shopping, cooking, doing the laundry, check on family and friends and then have time to sleep.
Leisure is something the mind finds to ease the pressure of work and reset the body for a better output. When leisure is denied, work life, family life and social life suffers.
